Support Staff Courses

This year, the Inspire Professional Learning Programme has expanded to provide a more bespoke and detailed offering for Teaching Assistants and Support Staff. These courses are great for those who are new to their roles or are experienced and are looking for new ways they can be effective and strengthen their practice. We have also added a couple of courses to support TAs who work with children with complex needs, to equip them with specialist knowledge and skills to ensure all children have valuable learning experiences.

Our course fees help cover the costs of speakers, facilities and further strengthening our CPD offering. However, as a Trust who is committed to improving the lives of all children, if you are interested in joining for one of our courses but feel the price may be a barrier, please don’t hesitate to contact us anyway to discuss a discounted rate.

Empowering Learners as a New Teaching Assistant

This 5-session programme is designed to enable Teaching Assistants to support children’s learning more confidently at all stages of their learning journey. These virtual sessions will focus on fostering independence in children rather than creating a sense of ‘learned helplessness’ for pupils who work in guided group. During the sessions, staff will be supported to evaluate their own practice and identify priorities for themselves and the children they work with, taking ownership of their development and identifying ways in which they can continue to progress.

Supporting Children With More Complex Needs

This 6-session virtual programme is designed for teaching assistants who are closely supporting children with complex needs.This programme is ideal for TA's who are looking to develop new techniques and strategies to support independent learners and reach their full potential.

Developing Specialist Knowledge In The Role

These sessions are to provide staff with specialist knowledge for understanding and supporting children with specific complex needs. Each session will take a deep dive into a complex need and what techniques and strategies work best for supporting children with these.

Leading Yourself And Others

This is a guided session for staff at all levels to support them in reflecting on their practice. The session will explore how we can unlock our full potential through emotional resilience and growth mindset and how we can manage these to give/receive effective feedback and self/co-regulate.
